A Discord announcement bot that never spams the channel

Here is the deal this bot makes with your channel: it will never post your announcement twice. A billboard is a single bot-owned message. When it's time to show the next announcement, the bot edits that existing message — it does not send a new one. Editing a message does not trigger a notification, so nobody gets pinged when your announcement changes.

That's the entire anti-spam guarantee, and it holds whether you're rotating one announcement or ten. Your members never see a stack of stale copies, because there's only ever one message to see. The conversation above and below it stays readable, and the announcement stays current without ever interrupting anyone.

A typical scheduled-announcement or recurring-message bot creates a new message every cycle. That's fine for a one-off ping, but for anything you want standing in the channel it's a problem: duplicates pile up, every repost is another notification, and you end up manually deleting the old ones.

Billboard Bot updates the same message instead — it's an auto-updating message, not a stream of new ones. Think of the difference between mailing a fresh flyer every hour versus updating one flyer pinned to the wall. Same information, but one of them spams the room and one of them doesn't. If your goal is "keep this announcement visible and current," editing in place is the version that respects your members' notification settings.

You're not limited to a single announcement. Each announcement lives on its own frame — markdown, rich embeds, images — and the bot cycles through the frames in order on your interval, all inside that one message.

So a community can run welcome info, an event reminder, and the rules through a single billboard: frame 1, frame 2, frame 3, back to frame 1, forever. Three announcements, zero extra messages, zero extra pings. A recurring-announcement bot would have posted all three separately, several times over, by now.

All commands are guild-only and gated to Manage Server, so only your admins can touch them. Create the billboard first, then attach each announcement as a frame by its message ID (right-click any message → Copy Message ID, with Developer Mode on). Run frames add once per announcement you want in the rotation, then activate and verify.

Edit-in-place keeps the announcement current, but in a busy channel a quiet message still scrolls up over time. If you want it to stay the last message people see, turn on sticky with pin:true.

To be clear about what this does: sticky is resend-to-bottom, not Discord's native pinned-messages list. When someone posts, the bot re-sends the billboard so it sits at the bottom of the channel again. It still rotates in place between posts — sticky just controls position, not the anti-spam contract. There's exactly one exception to "never reposts," and it's worth being upfront about. Discord blocks edits to any message older than one hour. For most billboards that's a non-issue — they edit in place indefinitely. But if you set a very fast interval (under 60 seconds), the bot can't keep editing the same message forever.

So for sub-60-second billboards, the bot automatically deletes and reposts the message roughly every 50 minutes, then re-applies sticky if it's enabled — never a native pin, just resend-to-bottom.
